Awesome new record from post metal group the Deftones, despite bassist Chi Cheng's absence due to a car accident induced coma the band shines on and does everything right in this new installment called "Diamond Eyes". Stephen Carpenter's use of the 8 stringed guitar definitely gives the album it's heavy yet melodic atmosphere that is truly mesmerizing and gut wrenching. Basically it's all still a showcase of how the guys have created their trademark tune and continue to evolve creating sound landscapes that haunt us with all it's dark pop cave-in's and outs. I freaking love this album, great soundtrack to my morning commute or evening tokes.
